KITCHEN + PANTRY
In 2012, I started my journey into natural foods. I went vegetarian, then pretty quickly went vegan. These days, I eat “intuitively”, and reach for what my body feels it wants or needs while staying true to natural, of course!
While in college, I received a grant through the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth to conduct research regarding the plant-based and allergen-friendly dining options on campus. There wasn’t much. This was a decade ago, before soy milk (forget about almond or oat milk) were options at coffee shops!
I put in hours of observation, conversations, logging, and action to eventually turn UMD into a not-very vegan-friendly university to a university that received an “A” grade from PETA2, and now offers vegan options every day, at every dining location.
Shortly before graduating from UMass, I received a social justice prize for the work I did to help improve the quality of life for students seeking healthier options.
This carries through the work I do today on a personal and professional level.
